CONFIRMATION PROGRAM
Every baptized person should receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Without the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, Baptism is still valid and efficacious, but Christian initiation remains incomplete. Confirmation is also  known as “the Sacrament of Christian maturity.” Confirmation is an important step in a Christian’s faith journey that not only stresses maturity , but also commitment, knowledge, freedom and active participation.

 Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community. REQUIRMENTS OF THE CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES
Confirmation is a 3 year preparation process
Candidates must:

• Be in 11^th grade or 16 years old by December 31^st before receiving the sacrament in January
• Have had two previous consecutive years of religious formation from a Catholic school or a parish school of religion prior to being admitted to the Confirmation program
• Have 100% attendance by attending  all 8 classes or the scheduled make-up classes
• Attend the retreat, Day of prayer and Reconciliation
• Prepare for and attend Confirmation interviews
• Write a two page hand written saint report and a Letter of Request for Confirmation to the pastor
• Complete 25 service hours

Confirmation Year Two Orientation Meeting (students entering 11th grade)
Candidates and at least one parent must attend the Confirmation Orientation meeting on Monday, August 7 or Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting is the same on both nights. You can choose the one which best fits your schedule.

             Friday, Jan. 19     Sacrament of Confirmation  Report to Main Hall by 6:00 P.M. Mass begins at 7:00 P.M.
