TRANSPORTATION:
Livingston Public Transit has vans equipped for wheelchairs and transport curbside to curbside on a first call, first serve basis. There is no charge for citizens over the age of 60, though a donation of $1.00 is suggested. For others living inside Livingston Parish, the fare is $10.00 for round trip and $5.00 for one-way. The fare for those living outside Livingston Parish is $16.00 round trip and $8.00 one-way. This service is provided Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and Friday from 7:30 am to 11:00 am. One escort per passenger is permitted. Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge: 225-336-8700. Serves people of all religions. Some services provided are to families in financial crisis, newly arrived refugee families, seniors in need of jobs, adults with disabilities, unwed mothers, disaster victims, and homeless families. Ex-offenders are offered a variety of services including building families through counseling and adoptions and financial assistance.
